Children who eat a Mediterranean diet are less prone to asthma - Health News, Health & Families - The Independent: "Children who eat a diet rich in fruit, vegetables and fish have a lower risk of asthma and wheezing, but eating three or more burgers a week can increase the risk, scientists have concluded.
Researchers from Germany, Spain and London examined data from 50,000 children aged eight to 12, from 20 different countries, collected between 1995 and 2005.
Parents were asked about their children's usual diet and whether they had ever been diagnosed with asthma or suffered wheezing.
Almost 30,000 children were given a skin-prick test to see if diet directly affected their chances of developing common allergies."
