Nutritious Substances in Semen

The content of semen or sperm always attract the attention of scientists to examine. Semen contain many nutritious substances which are good for conception. But the benefits disappear if it is swallowed like taking medicine.

In the perspective of health, sperm is seen as a biological substance released by male to fertilize the eggs of women through the process of sperm-egg union. Semen or organic fluid is also known as seminal fluid, which usually contains spermatozoa.

Physiologically, semen released by the gonads (sexual glands) and other sexual organs of male or hermaphrodite animals to fertilize the female egg cell.

The results of a study by Johnson and Everitt in their book Essential Reproduction (2000) revealed that semen contains a high nutrient content. In a typical ejaculation (about a teaspoon), semen already contains 150 mg of protein, 11 mg carbohydrates, 6 mg of fat, 3 mg cholesterol, 7 percent potassium, copper and zinc.

Well, here are the details on the nutritional content of semen:

Sugar
1. Fructose: Sugar which is very sweet which is also contained in fruits and honey
2. Sorbitol: a sweetener that is often used as a substitute for sugar in diabetics
3. Inositol: This sweet substances can enhance growth of healthy hair and are often considered as brain food

Proteins and amino acids
1. Glutathione: an important antioxidant that can bind toxins such as heavy metals, solvents and pesticides
2. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA): nucleic acid that contains genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all living organisms
3. Creatine: the supply of energy for muscle contraction

Mineral
1. Phosphorus: helps the body absorb calcium to make strong bones
2. Zinc
3. Magnesium: helps maintain normal muscle and nerve function, keep heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system, makes the bones strong, helps regulate blood sugar levels, improve normal blood pressure, and is also involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis.
4. Calcium: make bones strong
5. Potassium: is essential for normal body growth and for replacement of outdated tissue

Vitamin
1. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C): can help a person look younger and beautiful. Vitamin C also encourages the growth of protein chains in collagen, which is the main ingredient in all fibrous tissue.
2. Vitamin B12: improves energy
3. Choline: sharpen your mind

Hormone
1. Testosterone: sexual function and increase sex drive
2. Prostaglandins: participate in a variety of body functions such as contraction and relaxation of smooth muscle, dilation and constriction of blood vessels, control blood pressure, and modulation of inflammation.

Body Product
1. Lactic Acid
2. Urea
3. Uric acid
4. Nitrogen

Because of this nutritious content many believes the sperms could give anti aging benefits for women who swallows it. But until now there has been no research that shows swallowing sperm can inhibit the aging process.

Any effects felt are only psychological impact, in this case the woman is happy because they managed to satisfy his partner.

Until now there has been no scientific evidence that indicates whether the material is useful if ingested by humans. What is clear is that semen from healthy men and not infected with the disease will make prospective embryo which are also healthy.
