Fundraising for leukaemia patient in the key of C

"Despite Kurt Filiga having terminal leukaemia, his friends and family hope a relatively unknown, intravenous vitamin C treatment may beat the seemingly insurmountable odds.

But at $105-a-pop, the treatment is financially crippling his family, leading a group of top Wellington musicians to band together to raise money for the young documentary maker.

Phoenix Foundation member Samuel Scott will take to the stage on Sunday with the Thomas Oliver Band and the Shot Band to raise money for Filiga's intravenous treatment, which he receives two to four times a week, depending on available funds." Read more in DomPost...
