Tauranga-based doctor and medical researcher Shaun Holt has launched a new website, believed to be a world first, that allows people to check the medical research behind natural health products before buying them. Dr Holt said he was motivated to set up the website after seeing people waste their time on products that either were not right for them, or had no real benefit. "People's desire for natural alternatives has driven them to accept dubious advice from mostly well-intending retailers, and many end up with something as useful as pixie dust," he said.
