Foods and Beverages That Lowers Sexual Desire

You probably have often heard about aphrodisiac foods which can evoke sexual desire. But did you know that there are foods that can actually reduce or even eliminate sexual desire.

If you don’t want your sexual desire to decrease, it is best to avoid the consumption of these foods excessively. According to The Star, here are eight foods that can reduce sexual desire.

1. Licorice
Licorice is a sweet root plant which is often used as material for candy or other sweet foods. Licorice contains phytoestrogens, which can decrease levels of testosterone. This hormones are not only found in men but also in women which becomes the trigger of sexual desire.

2. Soybean
Soybeans are very good for your health. However, if consumed too much, it has the same effect as licorice, which decreases testosterone levels.

3. Cilantro
Cilantro leaves can also reduce testosterone levels. These leaves are widely used in Mexican and Vietnamese foods.

4. Mint
Often used as an ingredient for candy or beverages that can eliminate bad breath. But do not have too much mint candy, because mint could also lower levels of testosterone and a has negative impact on your sexual desires.

5. Tonic drinks
The main ingredient of tonic drinks are Quinine, which also lowers testosterone levels. So, if you go to bars to drink, do not drink too much of this type of drink.

6. Corn flakes
You have to know why John Harvey Kellogg created cornflakes which are currently quite popular. He is a doctor in a sanitarium, hospital for treating patients with chronic diseases. Kellogg created cornflakes to reduce patient’s sexual desire.

7. Sweet and fatty foods
Too much sweet and fatty foods could close the artery wall. This inhibits blood flow to the genital area that decreases sexual desire.

8. Alcohol
Alcoholic beverages which are consumed excessively can also decrease sexual desire. After drinking, people also tend to be depressed and have headaches.
